MATRIX DEVELOPMENT GROUP ANNOUNCES 86,127-SQUARE-FEET OF SPACE LEASES AT ONE RIVERFRONT CENTER IN NEWARK, NJ 

The Legal Center Continues to Attract and Retain New Jersey’s Leading Businesses

NEWARK, N.J. (September 10, 2007) – Matrix Development Group today announced nine separate office space leases and renewals totaling 86,127-square-feet at One Riverfront Center in Newark, a 20-story, world-class, mixed-use Class-A office and retail tower known as “The Legal Center.”

The leases and renewals include:

  • Patton Boggs LLP, an international law firm, signed a 28,828 square foot lease, which was brokered by Mark Weiss and Robert Eisenberg of Newmark Knight Frank;
  • McManimon & Scotland, LLC, a multi-practice firm, signed a 23,719 square foot expansion and renewal, which was brokered by Jim Medenbach of The Staubach Company;
  • STV Incorporated, an architectural engineering company, signed a 8,238 square foot renewal, which was brokered by Walter Schoenberg of Cushman & Wakefield;
  • Everest Technology Group, a technology firm, signed a 8,959 square foot lease, which was brokered by Jim Bailey of GVA Williams;
  • URS Corporation, an engineering design firm, signed a 4,945 square foot lease, which was brokered by Jack Feeney of Studley;
  • HDR Engineering, an engineering firm, signed a 3,818 square foot lease, which was brokered by Jon Karnick, formerly of Newmark Knight Frank and presently of Assure Realty;
  • LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae, LLP, a full-service, global law firm, signed a 2,800 square foot lease, which was brokered by Rich Baumstein of Cushman & Wakefield;
  • PMA Consulting, an international construction consulting firm, signed a 2,498 square foot lease, brokered by Jeff Kolodkin of Grubb & Ellis Company; and
  • Winston & Strawn LLP, an international law firm, signed a 2,322 square foot lease, which was brokered by Richard Charles of CB Richard Ellis.

Matrix is currently marketing a rare block of 100,000-square-feet at One Riverfront Center, which recently received a $1.5 million facilities upgrade. The enhancements include new state-of-the-art HVAC systems, security, valet parking and a multi-purpose meeting and conference facility.

One Riverfront Center has a two-story lobby, parking garage and state-of-the-art security system.  This 20-story building is widely recognized as the most desirable office building in North Jersey and has historically maintained 100 percent occupancy. Additional amenities include a Pedestrian Skyway to Newark Penn Station and Gateway Complex, which includes a Hilton Hotel as well as close proximity to the Performing Arts Center. Matrix owns an additional seven acres of land adjacent to One Riverfront Center and planning is underway to create a $400 million mixed-use waterfront development on the property.
